Spring Break ’17

Greetings from FD!  We hope everyone enjoyed their Spring Break over the past week, at least those of  you who were on Spring Break.  We had 4 families from our neighborhood in The Woodlands venture to Gulf Shores, Al.  A few of the family’s drove straight to Gulf Shores which was about a 9 hour drive.  Some of us stopped in Baton Rouge, La and stayed at the Hilton, woke up and drove to Gulf Shores that next day.  Needless to say, it was a LONG road trip, especially with the kiddos asking if “we’re almost there” every few minutes.

When we got there, the weather was rather disappointing as expected.  Cold and rainy.  I guess you could say that we rolled the dice a year ago when we put a deposit down on the house…we lost.  The house was fantastic but hanging out the beach was very uncomfortable.  Fortunately, we had gotten wet suits for the kiddos so they had a blast.  The parents took turns going out to the beach to supervise in the piercing wind and rain.

Here are a few pics of our kiddos rocking out in their wet suits…

One of our initial goals was of course to go fishing.  We were anxious to try some of our new Cuda Brand Fishing Knives to clean whatever fish we caught. Unfortunately, the fishing charters were not catching fish in the bad weather so we passed.  By the way, one of the senior marketing managers at Cuda sent us plenty of free product to give away to our special customers as a thank you.  Simply sign up for our newsletter at our website, make a purchase and make a request for a free Cuda product…first come first serve.

When the weather was too bad even for the kids, we had to decide on other indoor activities.  One day, we went to the arcade and the kids had a blast.  Other days we would go out to brunch, lunch and/or dinner and play games around the house.  One of the best brunch places in the area is called Brick & Spoon.  They are especially known for their Bloody Mary’s!

All in all, we had a great time despite the weather.  The kids thought it was awesome so their pleasant attitudes made the trip more enjoyable for the parents.  Hopefully we will be able to share some videos with you all next time. Cheers!
